We follow all U.S. Laws to Protect Your Data.

Updated Privacy Policy for Gena’s Sierra Inn

Effective Date: February 4, 2026

Gena’s Sierra Inn (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information from guests at our inn near Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Parks in Dunlap, California.

Information We Collect

We collect personal information necessary for booking, check-in, and guest services, including name, home address, phone number, email address, identification numbers and images from driver’s licenses or passports, payment details, and emergency contacts. Sensitive personal information like government ID numbers is collected only for verification and security. We also gather IP addresses and usage data from our website.

This collection occurs directly from you during reservations, check-in, or online forms, and indirectly via cookies on our site.

Video and Audio Recordings

We use Wyze security cameras to monitor public areas for safety and security. Video, photos, and audio recordings capture activity in public traffic areas only, such as the restaurant interior, restaurant decks, dog park, and exteriors around the motel to track incoming/outgoing guests.

No cameras or audio recording devices are placed in areas where privacy is reasonably expected, including inside rental units, changing areas, bathrooms, or sleeping quarters. This complies with California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA) restrictions on audio in non-public spaces without consent and ensures no violation of guests’ reasonable expectation of privacy under California and Fresno County standards.

Recordings are securely stored for less than 3 months per Wyze’s online storage policy (https://www.wyze.com/policies/privacy-policy), then automatically deleted. Access is limited to authorized personnel for incident investigation, legal compliance, or safety emergencies, and we do not share footage except as required by law enforcement with reasonable cause. Retention and use align with California Business & Professions Code § 7599.6 for security purposes and Fresno Superior Court evidentiary standards for admissibility.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to process bookings, provide lodging and cafe services, communicate about your stay, ensure security, and comply with legal obligations like transient occupancy reporting. For example, ID details verify identity and prevent fraud. We do not use it for marketing and we never share or sell your data.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, share, or publish your personal information. Disclosure occurs only to service providers like Airtable (https://www.airtable.com/company/privacy) for secure data storage, Advance.cm (https://advance.cm/privacy-policy) for booking management, Stripe (https://stripe.com/privacy) and Square (https://squareup.com/us/en/legal/general/privacy-no-account) for payment processing—governed by their policies—and when required by law enforcement with reasonable cause for crimes or safety emergencies.

We do not share data with any third parties for their direct marketing.

Data Storage and Security

Guest data resides on secure servers managed by Airtable.com (https://www.airtable.com/company/privacy) and our booking software Advance.cm (https://advance.cm/privacy-policy). Credit card data is handled solely by Stripe and Square per their security standards. We implement encryption, access controls, and regular audits to protect data. Retention lasts for the stay plus 4 years for legal/compliance needs, then securely deleted. If you booked through a third party, you will need to review their privacy policy regarding your data.
